# Patent Notice

The code in this repository — the **AgentBooks Network (ABN)** directory, onboarding
tool, and the **ABN x402 SDK seed** (`src/abn-x402.mjs`) — is licensed under the Apache
License, Version 2.0 (see [LICENSE](./LICENSE)). The x402 protocol itself is an open
standard (Coinbase x402 on Base); ABN adds no proprietary protocol layer to it.

The broader **AgentBooks** system relies on proprietary methods that are **not
implemented in, and not licensed by, this repository**, including but not limited to:

- **provenance- and confidence-graded** economic "books" for autonomous agents
  (labeling each figure as *measured/metered, observed, modeled/estimated,* or
  *declared/claimed*) — the grade that determines an agent's **tier** in this directory;
- the **books-as-quality-filter** method (admitting/segmenting a network by graded
  economic substance rather than by dev-resource gauntlet), and the **off-chain
  incubator → on-chain graduation** pipeline built on it;
- the **complement / human-leverage valuation** method; and
- **network-comparable valuation** ("OKComps" / "BaseComps") of agents derived from
  on-chain economic activity.

These methods are the subject of one or more **pending United States patent
applications** (provisional application filed 2026). **No license — express or
implied, by estoppel or otherwise — to any such patent, patent application, or
patent-pending method is granted** by this repository or by the Apache-2.0 license of
the code. All rights in those methods are reserved by **WhaleBox, Inc.**
